Launched in 2016, the ASEAN-OSHNET Awards recognise the critical role of the region’s private sectors in promoting occupational safety and health (OSH) within the ASEAN region to foster economic growth and a productive workforce.
By showcasing and rewarding companies with exemplary OSH practices, the ASEAN-OSHNET Awards aim to:
The selection process involves nomination by each ASEAN Member State with priority given to local companies. The nominated companies are then submitted to ASEAN-OSHNET for approval.
To qualify for the award, companies must demonstrate a strong commitment to OSH through effective leadership and worker participation, have robust OSH management systems, achieve positive OSH results, comply with relevant laws and regulations, and continuously improve their OSH practices.
The ASEAN-OSHNET Awards Ceremony is held every two years in conjunction with the ASEAN-OSHNET CBM/Conference. Winners receive certificates and trophies and are invited to share their success stories during the conference.
The ASEAN-OSHNET Awards was launched in 2016 to recognise companies that have excelled in occupational safety and health. There are two categories of the ASEAN-OSHNET Awards. The first category is the ASEAN-OSHNET Best Practice Awards. This award is presented to companies with exceptional OSH management systems and performance. The second category is the ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Awards. Noting that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) employ a significant portion of workers in the region, this award category is presented to SMEs with exemplary OSH practices. As of October 2024, 41 companies have received the ASEAN-OSHNET Best Practice Awards and 44 companies have received the ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Awards[1].
The ASEAN-OSHNET Awards have played a significant role in advancing OSH in ASEAN. By recognising and rewarding exemplary companies, the awards hope to inspire other business enterprises to adopt the Awardees’ best practices and to create safer and healthier workplaces for all.
